Racento Privacy Policy
Score Buddy · Last updated: 11 June 2026

Racento is built to be private by default. There is no account, no sign-up, and we never ask for your name, email or password.

Who we are

Racento ("the app") is developed by Henk Walgemoed. For any privacy question you can reach us at info@racento.com.

What data we process

1. Anonymous app & device information. To keep the app working and to understand how it is used, the app sends a small amount of anonymous, technical data to our server: a random device identifier (generated on your device, not linked to your identity or Apple ID), the app version, your iOS version, device model and language setting.

2. Game data — including the names you type. While you keep score, the current game (game type, rounds, bids, tricks, points and the player or team names you enter) is sent to and stored on our server. This powers the optional "Follow live" feature: the app shows a short code and link, and anyone who has that code or link can view the live scoreboard, including the names. Because of this, please don't use sensitive information as a player name if you intend to share a game.

3. Approximate country. When your game syncs, our server derives your country from your IP address to show anonymous, country-level usage statistics. We do not store your IP address — only the two-letter country code.

4. Local network (Chromecast). If you cast the scoreboard to a TV, the app uses your local network to discover nearby Chromecast devices. This stays on your network; it is not sent to us.

What we do not do

How the data is used

The anonymous information is used only to operate the app, power live score-sharing, keep the service reliable and improve the app. The data is stored on our own server (racento.com) and is not shared with third parties, except as required to run the service (hosting) or by law.

Retention & your choices

Game records and anonymous statistics are kept to provide and improve the service. You can ask us to delete data related to your device or a specific game by emailing info@racento.com — mention the game's share code so we can find it.

Children

Racento is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information. Since no account is required and no personal details are requested, the app collects no data that identifies a child.
